Up a had starting other part of old Prague - Old Town, whith is known from 13th century. A large number of people lived here. Mostly artisans, traders, peasants. That is, those people who were forced to work for the nobles, as well as to provide livelihoods for themselves and their families.
Old Town getting bigger over time, and at the middle of 14 century local people needed to expand the city. But there was a wall, which interfered this. What then was left to do? That’s why the wall was destroyed, the stones were used for building new huts. And the moat, located in front of wall, was filled by soil and trash. Today we still call this street - "on the moat".
Today here is quite good shop area, like Wenceslas Square too. On your right, on the distance, you can find big store for children - a lot of toys, a lot of kind of toys, even the carousel and big slide are there! On a side you can find alimentary store Lidl with low prices and large selection of local products.
