Saint Wenceslas up side down

So, here you are! Memorial of saint Wenceslas on a up side down horse - quite interesting vision of the patron of Czech. It was created by modern sculptor David Cherny - he is our contemporary, and installed here in year 2000. What he wanted to tell by this strange monument? According to the agreement between the owner of Lucerna and David Cherny, this Wenceslas will hang in the passage until the constitutional monarchy will restored in Czech.

But for sure - it is not big wish of whole population. No! On the contrary, when the Czechs were part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, they really didn’t like it and wanted to get out of the influence of the empire. With great joy, the Czechs greeted the emergence of the new, independent republic of Czechoslovakia on October 28, 1918.

This means that in this case this statue will hang here indefinitely.

And although it doesn’t seem so, the statue is very light. It made from polystyrene foam coated with dark green paint. Can you imagine this?! When there is a draft, the statue sways. What looks very implausible. This is such an optical illusion.
