Entrance to Lesser Town
0:00 / 0:57Entrance to Lesser Town
Ahead you see two towers. These are the towers of Charles Bridge. On the left side there is a small tower from the previous bridge, from the twelfth century. The right tower is higher. This tower already belongs to the Charles Bridge. Its construction was completed in the 15th century. Notice the different stones and blocks these towers are made from. This means that the buildings are really old. They are connected to each other by a small bridge so that the city guards can defend the city if necessary.
After passing through the arch you will get to Lesser Town. It’s really fabulous place. Narrow streets, small houses... How nice it is to walk in this place! So many places for admiring! Also for enjoying seating. To have a lunch somewhere in a cozy place, somewhere to drink a cup of coffee or a glass of beer, somewhere to try a cake.
And remember, to enjoy Prague, you have to get lost here.
