This sculpture does not stand on the bridge itself, but closer to the river, separate from all other sculptures.
The legend of Bruncvik says:
For now - he is the stone’s knight, who will come to life, when the enemies will attack his country. He will take out his real sword, which is immured into the bridge snd will kill all enemies. Therefore in his hand not his real sword, but the copy only.
Notice, behind him there is a Lion, who was Bruncvik’s friend and helped him survive in the desert.
But reality is totally different. The stone’s knight previously was a sign for a merchants, that they are approaching the settlement with "city rights" and this means that they need to pay a special rate for entrance.
Marina Tsvetaeva, an excellent poetess, wrote wonderful words about this Knights:
"Pale-faced Knight over the splash of the century. You guarding the river. Oh, will I find the peace in my mind of lips and hands of my beloved? Tell me, guard of post of separation."
