Brunch of Charles University

The very first brunch of Charles University is in front of you. King of Bohemia Charles of fourth had ruled country in second part of 14th century. The best ruler we ever had. He never fought with any country. Only built, founded something. And everything he has built or founded - named after him. Charles University, Charles bridge, city Karlovy Vary with a lot of hot springs of mineral water, atc.He wanted rise extend of aducation of nation. That’s why Charles invited some professors from Germany, created university and gave a chance to young people to stady. What only left here from that time, I mean from very first building of University, from 14th century - is old oriel window. It’s a form of bay window, looks like a cover balcony.

Everything around this balcony was rebuilt over time. Now there is a dean’s office of Charles University. All faculties, what is 17 currently, are spread over the city in the brunches. But initially in Charles University there were 4 faculties only: law, art, medical and technological.
